The Menorca Beach Stays Host Guarantee provides basic protection for hosts against certain guest-related incidents during confirmed stays. This guarantee is designed to offer support — not full insurance — and should be considered an added layer of security, not a replacement for private coverage.
🏠 1. What the Host Guarantee Covers (Limited Protection)
This guarantee applies only during active reservations paid through Menorca Beach Stays.
✔️ Eligible Situations
- 🧹 Minor accidental damage caused by guests
- 🔧 Costs for small repairs (e.g., broken lamp, stained bedding)
- 🛠️ Replacement of low-value items (< €100 per item)
- 🔑 Lock replacement if keys are lost
- 🧼 Extra cleaning caused by misuse (not standard cleaning)
Coverage Limit
- Up to €300 per booking
- Subject to case review
- Paid only after evidence verification
❌ 2. What the Host Guarantee Does NOT Cover
We provide minimal protection — hosts remain responsible for having proper insurance.
The guarantee does not cover:
- 🔥 Structural or major property damage
- 🛏️ Normal wear and tear
- 🖼️ High-value items such as art, jewellery, collectibles
- 🐾 Pet-related damage unless approved by host listing
- 🚫 Damages caused by negligence or unsafe property conditions
- 🌧️ Events caused by weather, power cuts, or external issues
- 👥 Unregistered guests or violations of local laws
Hosts must rely on personal home/rental insurance for full protection.
🧾 3. Requirements for Claiming Coverage
To qualify for the Host Guarantee, hosts must:
- 📸 Submit clear photos/videos of damage
- 📝 Provide a short written explanation
- 📅 File the report within 48 hours after checkout
- 💬 Communicate with the guest before escalating
- 🔐 Have a valid tourist licence and compliant property listing
Menorca Beach Stays may request additional documents such as receipts or invoices.
🔍 4. Review & Decision Process
Our team follows a strict review process:
- 📨 Host submits a claim
- 🔎 We verify stay details, guest identity, and evidence
- 🧮 We evaluate repair or replacement costs
- ⚖️ Decision issued within 5 business days
- 💶 Approved compensation is added to the host’s wallet
The decision is final and based on platform policies.
📉 5. Guarantee Limitations
To keep hosting fees low (5%) and ensure fairness:
- This is not insurance
- Maximum payout is €500 per booking
- Multiple claims from same host may be reviewed for misuse
- Serious or repeated guest damage will result in guest account suspension
🔐 6. Host Responsibilities
To stay eligible for the guarantee, hosts must:
- Maintain a safe, clean, and legal property
- Provide accurate listing details and photos
- Follow all EU/Menorca tourism regulations
- Use the host dashboard for all communication
- Report issues promptly
Failure to meet these obligations may void guarantee eligibility.
